It is always so exciting when we can bring our special brand of personalised swimming lessons to even more people – so we were absolutely thrilled to finalise out latest school partnership, taking Individuality Swimming beyond the BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole) area for the very first time!
Our new collaboration with Coombe House School in Shaftesbury was finalised in September and has allowed us to extend our reach to a whole new community. We will be helping this wonderful school, which provides education for children with special educational needs, open up their fantastic swimming pool to the wider community, taking on the hire of the pool outside of school hours to offer a diverse range of swimming lessons and community swim sessions.
Initially this will be after school on weekdays all year round, from 4 pm to 7.30 pm, and for seven hours on Saturdays and six hours on Sundays as well, with a view to extending these times as the need arises and as their new classes are established.
Plans so far for after-school and weekend lessons include sessions for community groups for older people in Shaftesbury and family swims, as well as using the pool for specialist lessons to help people with aquaphobia gain water confidence.
Our new partnership with the school not only continues our ongoing mission to help as many people as possible learn to swim, and love to swim, but we’re also committed to ensuring the sustainability and success of the Coombe House School’s pool.
Over time we will build up our offering there, with a view to providing a comprehensive array of lessons, covering diverse age groups and skill levels – from Aqua Natal and Parent & Baby classes to Adult lessons. As well as all that, we hope to begin providing job opportunities, starting with positions for swim helpers.
We are already loving being part of the Shaftesbury community, and it is such a pleasure to work with the team at Coombe House School, whose inclusive approach and mission to support individuals with diverse needs aligns so perfectly with our own values.
