Why take a Lifesaving Course?

Courses in lifesaving swimming, such as those provided by Individuality Training, are designed to prepare individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to prevent and address water-related emergencies.

These courses encompass various subjects, including pool rescue methods, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

STA Safety Award For Teachers – 1 Day Course

Beginner 2 - equivalent to Swim England Stage 1/2

If you’re a swimming teacher, aqua aerobics instructor, or school teacher and need a qualification to provide safety cover during swimming sessions, this course is ideal for you!

You’ll learn essential rescue techniques, basic first aid, and resuscitation skills. Having a rescue or safety award like this is also recommended for our swimming teaching qualifications, so it may be included as part of your swimming teacher training.

Valid for 2yrs

Prerequisites:
– Be 14 years of age or older
– Be able to swim 25 metres (learners who cannot swim 25 metres must be capable of wading, and effecting a rescue, in a pool with a depth no greater than chest height)
– Be able to surface dive and recover an object from the deepest part of the pool.

STA Level 2 Award in Pool Emergency Pool Responder

Beginner 2 - equivalent to Swim England Stage 1/2

The Pool Emergency Responder qualification is designed to train staff working in and around hotels and leisure clubs which traditionally have smaller pools which are shallower than 1.5m. On the course, you will learn how to respond to a swimming pool incident, perform CPR, first aid, and aquatic rescue skills including basic spinal injury management.

Valid for 2 yrs

Prerequisites:
– Be 16 years of age or above on the assessment day of the course
– Be able to surface dive and recover an object from the deepest part of the pool
– Swim 25 metres. Learners who cannot swim 25 metres must be able to demonstrate the ability to confidently wade, and effect a rescue in a pool with a depth no greater than chest depth.
