STA Level 2 Baby & Pre School Swimming Teacher Training Course Poole

CIMSPA Endorsed Swimming Instructor Training Course

Baby and pre-school teachers are able to seek employment in a wide variety of leisure facilities including private health clubs and school swimming pools through to large local authority leisure centres.

Prerequisites:
– Be at least 18 years old.
– Hold the STA Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable
– Adults certificate or acceptable equivalent (must have been completed within the last 3 years).

As a baby and pre-school teacher, you would be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating a series of progressive and fun lessons teaching babies through to pre-schoolers and their accompanying adult.
You will be able to teach a range of aquatic and safety skills such as floating, rotation, water confidence and basic swimming strokes.
You would be responsible for ensuring the lesson area and appropriate equipment is safe and promote good teaching and learning.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at individual swimming.My daughter started lesson at very young age. The instructors have been absolutely outstanding from day one. They are professional, patient and incredibly attentive, always making sure each child feel safe, supported and confident in water. What really stand out is how well they tailor their approach to each child’s needs. Watching my child from months old and being nervous around the Poole till 9 years later and how confidently swimming, it’s all thanks to the dedication and care of the amazing people at individual swimming.

I highly recommend these swimming lessons at individual swimming to any parent looking for high-quality instruction.

Extremely disappointing experience. This company feels like a complete money grab — they seem far more interested in taking payments than providing any real customer service. The office team is unresponsive and unhelpful, and getting any kind of support or clear communication is nearly impossible. The instructors look bored and disengaged, which really shows in the lessons. Definitely not worth the money — I’d recommend looking elsewhere for swimming lessons.

I’ve been taking my daughter for her weekly swimming lessons for a year now and she’s come on loads in her swimming and confidence in the water. You or more like your child needs so be prepared that their swimming instructor can change at a moments notice. The instructor that stands out the most is Andrew. He is brillant at what he does and the kids really respond and learn lots. Many thanks to Andrew.

Excellent swimming school. All the instructors I had when I attended weekly 1:1 lessons were very knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond to help improve my swimming. The Monday evening swim fitness classes at BCS that I went to were also really fun with a wide variety of swim sets (and challenging in a good way!) and the instructors were great. Thank you.

Amazing help from these guys! I went to Individuality Swimming because I’d been having swimming lessons for 6 months and still couldn’t swim. Within 3 lessons I was finally able to complete basic strokes. From that point I continued with some more lessons and in a total of 13 weeks I now not just swim but I swim so nicely and Andy able to enjoy the hobby daily which was always my lifelong dream! I’m so thrilled with the progress I made and I definitely made the right choice coming to these guys who really took the time to ensure I was getting it and actually, tangibly making progress! Thanks to all the team who assisted me getting to where I am now! :-))

My daughter has attended weekly at Talbot primary since October, and also just completed a 1 week intensive course. All the instructors are very patient and we particularly found the 1 wk course useful in speeding up her progress.
Having had a bad experience at a different swim school, we moved to individuality last year and found the instructors, assistants, and office team are all brilliant. Verity in particular has been so patient with our daughter recently, when she lost some confidence and was reluctant to join in.
Would recommend.

In June I attended the aqua-natal classes instructed by Sarah through the third trimester of my pregnancy.

These classes really helped me relieve my anxieties of pregnancy after a previous late loss of a baby and helped me to feel more energised through the last stages of pregnancy and before labour.

I’ve always loved to be in the water, and always feel relaxed in water, so to be able to continue to do this was wonderful.
Sarah the instructor was very friendly, welcoming, caring and adapted to my needs week by week and I felt really safe with her.

It was also lovely meeting and being able to talk to other Mum’s at the same stage of pregnancy.

These sessions enabled me to have time to focus on just myself and the pregnancy for a short while which was really important. The timings mean’t that I could still be there for my other child’s bedtime before attending.

Thank you individuality swimming for this opportunity and thank you Sarah. I will be looking at booking baby sessions soon!

I will be recommending the aqua-natal sessions to all my expecting friends.

Fantastic! My son has been having 1-1 lessons for approx 6 weeks and the improvement seen in him is incredible. He has gone from being nervous around water to swimming with floaties. Our teacher has been nothing but welcoming, understanding and accommodating. Highly highly highly recommend!!

My daughter has had the best experience in learning to swim with individuality swimming, she’s had 121 lessons with the most amazing teachers.
Her teacher Will is amazing and so kind, he has Taught her to be a very capable and very confident swimmer.
Our experience with the school has been so good and I would highly recommend.

My 4 and 5 year old have swimming lessons with Individuality. We used another swim school previously but found the smaller groups much better. Both of mine really look forward to swimming lessons each week. The staff have always been polite and helpful.

My daughter just had her first 1-2-1 lesson with Jodie. We were very nervous as she has tried teo swimming instructors so far (group sessions) with no luck. This was following her first set of lessons age 1 where she was dunked and it created a phobia where she would actually vomit on sight of a pool. Jodie was brilliant, so kind and understanding of her nerves, by the end of the lesson my daughter was actually gliding into the pool into Jodie's arms! We couldn't be prouder or more thankful to Jodie for her brilliant teaching!

Unfortunately our lessons ended on a sour note due to poor communication and clarification on the cancellation policy. After lessons with Anand - who was a great instructor, really warm, friendly, and great with my baby boy - for a number of months I had to cancel my lessons due to returning to work. Despite explaining this, and giving a months notice as requested I was charged for lessons 5 weeks after giving my months notice. This is apparently due to how the direct debits are arranged - it is not clear from the terms and conditions that this could end up being the case, and in our current financial situation at the end of maternity leave this is obviously not what we wanted to hear.

We did not receive any understanding or compromise from Hannah upon discussion of the matter; she even said other people have raised this point in the past, but they clearly haven’t clarified the T&Cs and take advantage of those who don’t make the exact date of when the cancellation notice needs to be received.

I also had to chase sorting out payment due to be returned to myself after a lesson was cancelled earlier in the year and they said they’d adjust the direct debit the following month.. they did not and I had to call multiple times to get this money back.

The communication from head office is great, as is the online portal. We have been particularly happy with our eldest's teacher, Vladka. She's so great and we were sad to leave her when moving to the next class!
